Elizabeth Ryan, a long time resident of the Jersey Shore, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Tyler School of Art. After painting local watercolor scenes for most of her life, Elizabeth's latest series of work focuses on large, panoramic landscapes on panels. Inspired by the work of Constable, Twatchman, and Bierstadt, these paintings offer long sweeping landscapes with vast skies that exist as a moving and palpable transcendent space. The simplifed views of Ireland use elements in the terrain to create an entity relevant to contemporary conversation and exploration.
For many years, Elizabeth has been sharing her talents with aspiring artists of all ages who attend her painting classes. She teaches watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting while also maintaining a daily studio practice.
